This is a series of paintings that began in January 2016, spawned by my interest in the Secret Space Program lectures delivered in 2015: secretspaceprogram.org On file are a number of fascinating presentations by notable scientists and scholars. They share their research into a space program that has been kept secret from the public since its inception, which can be recorded as early as the mid 19th century.

The presenters fit together a puzzle that reveals a picture of a "Breakaway Civilization" that has made their home in outer space. They operate with a different type of physics and a different view of the human race. They seem to have answered the age old questions, who are we? where do we come from, and where are we going?

I find that the Secret Space Program touches our lives in many ways, though we are mostly unaware of it. Here, with my paintings, I present my unstructured, unscientific research into the "Researchers", which is another way of saying that I soak up their message and process it with my own imagination.

Laying in Ruins

The result is a highly symbolic, mythologized portrayal of human-like gods and goddesses that reside in an interplanetary civilization. These citizens of the cosmos frollick between heavenly bodies in disparate solar systems without spacecraft or protective gear. They wear diaphanous gowns and sinuous loin cloths as they defy gravity and the harsh elements of foreign galaxies. They ponder the destruction of planets and the ruins that are left behind.

These perfect specimens of homo sapien sapien quest for new resources, and galactic libraries to unlock and decode. Theirs is a journey of infinity as they further their designs on other dimensions. But they also become homesick for their birth planet and all the old ways of life, as they stare off into space with longing and regret.
