Helen Caldicott,

20" x 18", mixed media on paper, 2014

My apologies to Helen Caldicott! My first portrait of this great woman, done over a year ago when I was new to this business, turned out a bit disturbing, though I had not intended it to be so. You can see the image below and judge for yourself. After a year of composing portraits, I became more skilled at committing my impressions to paper. Helen's portrait kept nagging me, telling me that it was not right. At last, I acted on my feelings of discomfort.
